Community Participation Resources
Peter Guttchen has prepared a list of some of the resources he's used to support NENA's efforts to improve the quality of life in our neighborhood. If you are interested in learning more about how to reach out to and involve community members in important community projects, this resource list is worth checking out.
What can NENA do for me?
Everything you need to know about NENA's...

Priest Point Park Interpretive Hike
Saturday, October 10 at 1 pm. Free!
Join Olympia Parks staff on a free and easy 90-minute guided hike.  Learn about the natural and cultural history of Olympia’s flagship park on this fun, relaxing walk. We’ll walk about 2 ½ miles on easy to moderate, but uneven, terrain. Meet at the Rose Garden shelter at Priest Point Park, 1600 East Bay Drive, Olympia.  Please dress for the weather and wear sturdy shoes.
Mission Creek Park Work Party
Saturday, October 17, 9 am to noon
Show a little love for the park so many of us love and enjoy.  We'll do trail maintenance, ivy removal, and general park clean-up. Gather at the San Francisco/Marion Street entrance to the park at 9 am. Tools, gloves and some refreshments will be provided. Please walk, bike or carpool if possible. All are welcome. No need to RSVP, just show up!  Contact Olympia Volunteers in Parks (VIP) Coordinator Todd Smith at 753-8365 for more information.
NENA Board meeting
Wednesday, October 21, 7pm in the Roosevelt School Music Room
If you are interested in serving on the Board - or would like to volunteer in other ways to improve the quality of life in your neighborhood - I encourage you to attend this meeting.  If you can't make it, just send me a note with a brief description of your interests and we'll get back to you. If you've got a specific neighborhood project or issue you'd like to work on, we'll find a way to help support you.
